US Department of Commerce recently released data show that in June, a total of US steel imports about 2.766 million tons, dropped by 10% month on month, down more than 15% year on year, which is for 3 consecutive months year on year decline.
From the main source countries of imports, compared with May 2015, steel imports from Russia, India, Japan and North America increasing month on month, increase rate are 23.4%, 11.4%, 16.8% and 6.8% respectively, while imports from China and Turkey steel fell significantly, fell more than 36%.
According to materials, with the exception of wire and hot rolled, import volume of other varieties have different fell, rebar imports fell dramatically, a drop of 46%
In addition, in June 2015, US imports of steel from China 173,000 tons, down by 17.4% over last year, significantly reduced nearly 37% over last month.
