US Nucor, Commercial Metals and steel dynamic steel mills decreased the merchant bar price by USD70/short ton recently. It has been lowered the price by USD55/short ton in September and October of this year. Currently ex-factory price of angle steel dropped to USD 573 / short ton.

Mills claimed that the main reason of price decrease is due to increased competition from imports resources. Weak demand and import resource pressure, the US steel capacity utilization continued to decline to 62.2%, the lowest level since early 2010.
