Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF) released the latest
data show that in January 2015, Japan's steel exports 3.443 million tons,
dropped nearly 10% compare with last month, but an increase of 4.2% compare
with same period of last year.
According to statistics of JISF, in January carbon steel exports amounted to
2.211 million tons, an increase of 2.9% compare with Jan of 2014, but a decline
of about one percent month on month. The HRC exports volme is about
0.97 million tons, up 1.4% year on year, a
decline of nearly 15% month on month. Cold coil exports volume is essentially
flat with last year, about 0.22 million tonnes year on year, but down nearly 5%
month on month; steel plates exports 0.29 million tons, an increase of 28.4% year on year, a
decline of nearly 5% month on month; profile steel and bar keep up high growth,
separately of 234.3% and 150.9%.
From the point of view of export destination countries, South Korea is still the most important steel export market for Japan, the export volume of 55.1 million tons, an increase of 2.8% month on month, but fell nearly 5% year on year; China is second steel export market of Japan, due to the Chinese New Year holidays approaching, a dramatic drop in export volume, about 40.4 million tons, down by 12% and 17% respectively month on month and year on year.
