World Steel Association
released data that in the first quarter of 2015, South Africa's steel production reached
1.6 million tons, down by 9.4%. Analysts believe that steel production is the
benchmark to determine whether the economy of South Africa healthy development
or not, power cuts, weak domestic demand, infrastructure and economic corridors
in Africa transnational railway network are the reasons to slow progress of
construction steel production declined in the first quarter.
