Japanese steel exports up by 11.7% in April

Japan Iron & Steel Federation (JISF) released the latest data show that in April 2015, Japan's steel exports reached 3.575 million tons, down by 7.5% month on month, but an increase of 11.7% year on year.

Divided by export areas, Japan's exports to Asia reached 2.769 million tons, up by 5.9% year on year, of which the volume to China was 502,000 tons, down by 1.5%; exports to the Middle East was 0.147 million tons, increased by 94.4%; exports to the United States was 0.188 million tons, increased by 46.9%, exports to Europe reached 23,000 tons, increasing by 17.9%.

Japan's steel imports volume in April were 625,000 tons, down by 17.9% year on year. Among them, steel imported from Asia was 527,000 tons, down by 18.4%; steel imported from Europe was 11,000 tons, down by 18.2%; import from Russia reached 14,000 tons, down by 28.4%.
