Chile's National Commission of price distortions began to conduct anti-dumping investigations on imported wire rod, involving customs codes for products 72103000, 72171000, 72172000, 72173000, 72179000, 72299000, 73121010 and 73130000.

Chile's local service center Inchalam allegations, due to increased imports and low import prices, domestic industry and manufacturers suffered serious damage.

In October, at the request of longs manufacturers CAP Acero, the Commission had imposed provisional tariffs of 37.8% on imported wire rod.
