Japanese steel orders down 5.7% year on year in Oct

According to the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF) data, in October Japan’s Carbon steel orders increase by 4.8% month on month to 5.762 million tons, but down 5.1% year on year.

 

In October orders in Japan is 3.64 million tons, an increase of 3.1% month on month, down 6.2 % year on year. Among them, the construction orders was 941,000 tons, an increase of 4.2% month on month, down 10.1% year on year, manufacturing orders 1.56 million tons, down 2% month on month and drop 6.1% year on year, the auto industry orders 718,000 tons, increased by 1.2% MoM , flat year on year. Japan's steel export orders in October were 2.122 million tons, an increase of 4.8% month on month, down 5.7% year on year.
