316LN stainless steel performance and application introduction
Source:Xinsteel Date:2020/8/7
316LN (022Cr17Ni12Mo2N) stainless steel is an ultra-low carbon austenitic stainless steel, which is made by adding 0.12%--0.22% nitrogen on the basis of 316L (022Cr17Ni14Mo2) stainless steel.
The addition of nitrogen significantly increases the strength of steel while still maintaining a high level of ductility. In terms of corrosion resistance, in addition to retaining the corrosion resistance characteristics of the original steel, the addition of nitrogen improves the corrosion resistance of steel in certain aspects, such as resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and intergranular corrosion. With the improvement of steel, the metallurgical production process performance of steel has not changed greatly, and it is easy to produce metallurgical products such as plates, tubes, forgings, and profiles.
316LN stainless steel has the same purpose as 316N stainless steel, but has better resistance to intergranular corrosion. Mainly used in the production of fertilizers, papermaking, pharmaceuticals and high-pressure equipment.
