317 stainless steel performance and application

The molybdenum content of 317 stainless steel (06Cr19Ni13Mo3) is 1% higher than that of 316 and 316L stainless steel. Therefore, pitting corrosion resistance is better than 316 stainless steel. 317 stainless steel is an ultra-low carbon austenitic stainless steel with excellent intergranular corrosion resistance and is suitable for making welded parts.
317 stainless steel is used in marine atmosphere, pulp production, printing and dyeing and ink equipment, petrochemical and nuclear fuel production, heat exchangers, pipelines, pumps and valves.
