347 stainless steel (06Cr18Ni11Nb) is austenitic stainless steel stabilized with element Nb. Due to the addition of Nb to the steel, the steel has good intergranular corrosion resistance. And has a higher creep strength.
Adding Nb improves the resistance to intergranular corrosion, and has good corrosion resistance in a variety of acid and alkali solutions. It can be used as corrosion resistant material and heat resistant steel. Used in petroleum, chemical, food, paper, synthetic fiber, thermal power plants and other equipment parts, but mainly as welding materials. In thermal power plants and nuclear power industry, it is used for large boiler superheaters, reheaters, steam pipes, shafts and various welded structural parts. Because 347 stainless steel has high creep strength, it is often used in automobile exhaust pipes, welded cylinder blocks of chemical equipment, and jet engine parts.
