Turkish domestic billet market gradually strengthened, ex-factory price of USD380-390 / ton. Imported price of billet relatively high in this days and price of scrap increasing. But in view of domestic demand of rebar remained sluggish and and exports still weak, billet buyers still cautious.

Currently, CIS billet offers of 370-375 US dollars / ton (CFR), price of Chinese billet of about US $ 355-360 / ton. Compared to CIS billet has some competitive advantage.

Market participants said scrap steel prices trend and steel demand will determine the future of Turkey's procurement of steel billet.
