In May, Northwest Europe plate price fall, mainly due to the iron ore prices decreased, imports of resources increased and stock market demand weak.

For the third quarter market trend, a number of mills expected orders in third quarter would be better and many mills would cease production to repair the equipments in August which make the market supply reduced, so plate prices should remain stable.

Currently, plate ex-works price in Ruhr Germany is 480 euros / ton, down euro 10 / ton, the price decline by euros 20-30/ton compare with the price in the first quarter.
