This week, the US hot rolled coil spot prices have reached or exceeded USD500 / short ton although buyers resist price increases. Last week, NLMK USA Company announced to increase sheet prices by USD40 / short ton, but until now no other mills to follow price increases, contrary to the majority of market participants expected, traders have speculated some mills may undisclosed price.

Currently, the US Midwest mill's HRC ex-works prices quoted at USD480-500 / short ton, up USD20 / short ton month on month; cold roll coil ex-factory price is USD620-640 / short ton, remained stable.
