Alloy steel and its classification

In order to obtain specific properties, one or more elements are added on the basis of carbon steel. These added elements are called alloy elements, and steel containing a certain amount of alloy elements is called alloy steel.
The steel with alloying elements less than or equal to 5% is called low alloy steel; the steel with alloying element content of 5%-10% is called medium alloy steel; the steel with alloying element content greater than or equal to 10% is called high alloy steel.
