316L stainless steel (022Cr17Ni12Mo2) is an ultra-low carbon austenitic stainless steel of 316 stainless steel, which has better resistance to intergranular corrosion and pitting corrosion.

It has good corrosion resistance to various inorganic acids, organic acids, alkalis and salts. Due to its low carbon content, it has good welding performance and is suitable for multi-layer welding.

Generally, heat treatment is not required after welding, and there is no tendency for knife edge corrosion after welding.

1. 316L stainless steel has good cold and hot workability. The steel has good thermoplasticity and low overheating sensitivity. The suitable hot work temperature is 900-1200 degrees Celsius.

Due to the high content of molybdenum in steel, its deformation resistance is significantly higher than that of 304 and 304L stainless steel.

2. 316L has good cold working performance and can be used for cold rolling, cold drawing, deep drawing, bending, crimping, folding and other cold working and cold forming operations.

3. The welding performance of 316L is good. The usual welding method can be used for welding. The heat treatment is not required after welding, and it still has good resistance to intergranular

corrosion.

316L stainless steel is widely used in the chemical processing industry, such as the manufacture of synthetic fibers, petrochemicals, textiles, fertilizers,

printing and dyeing and atomic energy and other industrial equipment, such as towers, tanks, container pipes, heat exchangers, etc.

Suitable for manufacturing welding parts and equipment with large cross-sectional dimensions.
