Introduction of stainless steel for surgical implant materials
Source:Xinsteel Date:2020/8/14
022Cr18Ni14Mo3 stainless steel is an ultra-low carbon austenitic special stainless steel for medical surgical implants. It has good resistance to intergranular corrosion. It can be used in equipment with strict requirements for resistance to intergranular corrosion. It can also be used as a surgical implant material.
317LN stainless steel (022Cr19Ni13Mo4N) has higher nickel content than 316 and 316L stainless steel. Moreover, 0.1%-0.2% nitrogen is added, so the austenite in the steel is more stable. The strengthening effect of nitrogen increases the strength of 317LN stainless steel. It can manufacture high temperature or hydrogen corroded parts. 317LN is also commonly used as surgical implant material.
